Glastonbury Confirmation

Delighted to confirm we will be heading back to Glastonbury Festival (and back to the Green Futures Field the location of our first ever event back in 2005).  We have appeared in many guises over the years, initially with the Earth Arcade (our renewable powered eco themed games arcade) and most recently with the very popular 'Whole in One' (eco themed crazy golf).  This time we will be making our Glastonbury debut with Mission Critical Escape - our 15 minute Eco-themed escape room type experience. We created Mission Critical with Glastonbury in mind and can't wait to take it there.  There's still plenty of work to do in the final few weeks.  If you are going to Glastonbury Festival in June do come and find us in the Green Futures Field.  A massive thanks to the Green Futures Crew for having us back.

Eco Van Woes

It has been a little bit of a nighmare this month.  We take the eco van off road during the quiet season to save money, starting it up now and again to keep it ticking over. Sadly this MOT time it wouldnt start at all.  First up, took the battery out to recharge - no joy.  Then a battery test, failed. New battery on board, still no joy.  Hours and hours of fiddling and testing later (Thanks Alan), we got it up an running.  We think it was a connection to the fuel pump.  MOT passed eventually.  This year we are running on empty, so getting through the test is so important.  You can support our eco van by sponsoring a part of it through our Big Eco Van funding drive.

Mission Critical: Our secret is out!

Our latest work had its first real life test at Wirral Earth Fest in West Kirby .  We've been working behind the scenes for months on this new climate change themed escape room inspired experience .  There were a few late nights in the final weeks before the event to get everything ready (including some last minute tests with volunteers!) .   The preparation paid off with the fifteen minute adventure proving popular with participants.

Put to the test at Earth Fest

It was great to take part in Wirral Earth Fest 2017. It was a wet start but the sun eventually shown through. The event marked a first 'live' test of our new home energy efficiency model. It's not yet complete and we will now progress and modify the exhibit based on our experience using it at a real world event.

It's hard to believe but we have survived another year - edging towards our goal of building a library of interactive exhibits, props and models for environmental awareness!  Thanks to Green Futures Festivals we will be heading back to Glastonbuty Festival where we first began opening conversations about sustainability all those years ago.  If you are going to the festival come and find us in the Green Futures Field.

Home energy exhibit grant boost

Delighted to report work on our home energy efficiency exhibit is now underway thanks to support from the Greggs Foundation.   Our successful application for an environmental grant means that we can now afford to get the neccessary parts and equipment to convert the dolls house that was donated to us earlier in the year.  Check back here for updates.

Sponsor a part to play a part in the big ecovan fundraising drive

We've launched a sponsorship drive to support the use of our ecovan as the centrepiece in our pop-up environmental exhibitions.   To encourage the widest possible involvement well wishers can sponsor different parts of the van or from an indicator bulb, to the engine.  Visit the campaign page to find out more and get involved.

Back in Black

It was great to be back at Blackberry Fair, an event that has grown from strength to strength.  The weather did its best to 'rain on the parade', but it did not dampen spirits for the many people who turned up to this fantastic festival on the streets of Whitchurch.   Sticky Exhibits were on hand offering a round of eco themed crazy golf.

An event with lots of energy

It was great to take our pop-up renewable energy exhibition to the fantastic Wirral Earth Fest in West Kirby. Visitors enjoyed finding out about the different technologies for harnessing wind and solar power.   Our exhibition was next to the main stage making it a most enjoyable day of music and merriment.

Mud glorious mud?

Thanks to a band of committed volunteers and some careful preparations we were able to entertain festival goers to a round of eco themed crazy golf in spite of some difficult site conditions.  Persistant rain in the run up to the festival resulted in some damp ground conditions which soon turned to mud.  At times it was a battle to keep our golf greens open but for those who found us a warm welcome awaited.  As ever, thanks to Green Futures crew for inviting us and working tirelessly to make the Green Futures field a special place to visit.

Glastonbury Bound!

We are delighted to be invited back to be a part of the Green Futures Field at Glastonbury Festival 2016.  Work is underway on some enhancements and tweaks to our 'Whole in One' eco crazy golf course first developed for the festival three years ago.  If you are heading to the festival come and play our greens in the green fields.  Here's a photo of a rare hole in one celebration from last year.

Parking secured for Eco Van

We are most pleased to have partnered with the University of Chester's Department of Geography and International Development to find a home for our eco van. Our eco exhibition vehicle will soon be parked on the University's Chester campus.  We have enjoyed a productive relationship for many years through a variety of student projects and placements.  The Department has a very strong sustainability programme and we hope to be doing a few more university events in the coming  months.

Our eco van will soon be moving. Will be good to see out of the window again!

Lots to do to get ready for the event season, starting with a spring sort out.  Here's a before picture.  Hopefully the after one will look a little tidier!
